Many of the Universities in Nigeria have conducted their admission screening exam (Post Utme) for aspiring students. While some has already released the results screening exercise, many are yet to do so.

University of Lagos (UNILAG) is among the few universities who usually set the pace in their organization for the Post Utme exams. The University has since released their Post Utme results and admission cut of marks. It would be recalled that a total of 31,955 candidates who scored 200 marks in the 2015 JAMB UTME chose the University of Lagos as their school of first choice. While 26, 732 of the candidates eventually registered for the 2015/2016 UNILAG post UTME.

According to a statement by UNILAG’s Deputy Registrar, Information, Mr Olagoke Oke, “A total of 17,935 candidates passed the screening test with a minimum score of 40 per cent”.
“The cut-off marks for admissions into the various programmes offered by the university have since been released on the university website,’’ the statement said.

University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), University of Portharcourt (UNIPORT), University of Benin (UNIBEN), University of Calabar (UNICAL), and few other top Universities in  Nigeria have released their 2015/2016 Post Utme Results while the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (UNIZIK) and some other universities are yet to even hold the screening exam.

However, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has already commenced sales of UTME forms for the 2016/2017 academic session.

According to a statement by the board’s Head of Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the early sales is to prepare candidates ahead of time for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The statement continued; ”The registration fee for the UTME is N5,000 and candidates are also to pay N500 to obtain the textbook, The Last Days at Forcados High School’.
”Candidates will, however, be issued the book at the point of registration after showing evidence of payment,”

The statement added that the examination scratch cards can be purchased from Zenith Bank, Skye Bank and First Bank. While the registration period would span from Aug. 31 to Jan. 15, 2016 (website closes January 19, 2016).

The 2016 JAMB UTME has been slated to commence on February 29 and end on March 14, 2016.

  1. For long ago, JAMB had been a huge-sum-of-money-making parastatal; that is why they are so hasty in announcing the sale of their multiple choiced UTME forms. They should also be in hurry to give account of their stewardship to the nation!
